The wellness villa "DUXCAAR" is located directly on the seafront at the "Plage du Vougot". The extensive dune landscape of the beach of the same name begins 10 metres behind the garden gate. The "Plage du Vougot" is a fine sandy beach more than three kilometres long, where the waves of the turquoise-coloured Atlantic wash up. You can go on long walks directly on the beach or in the dune landscape and can reach neighbouring beaches directly from our house beach, for example, enjoy a few fresh local oysters, a seaweed salad and a cider at one of the many picnic spots along the beach and watch the sun dip yellow-red in the gentle waves of the Atlantic at around 10.30 pm in summer. But stays in autumn and winter are also very impressive, when the natural forces of the Atlantic create five-metre-high waves over which kite surfers fly with their colourful sails and, after a long walk in the sea spray-soaked salt air, you can warm up again in the sauna or in front of the crackling fire in the fireplace with a good glass of red wine. In February you can also enjoy the first impressions of spring with blooming camellias, daffodils, broom bushes etc. in the countless small bays of the "Pays des Abers" and the mild air of the Gulf Stream.

The property is located in the first row of the sea directly on the large and high Vougot dune. You go through the garden gate and after 10 metres you have direct access through the dune hedge, which is more than three metres high, and the property itself is completely fenced in. In front of the house, facing west, there has been a huge wooden deck (50m²) with a terrace, spacious and comfortable terrace furniture in rattan look since 2020. So you can enjoy spending many hours of sunshine there at lunchtime or in the evening and hear and smell the sea and get a glimpse of it behind the dune. to the east of the house there is a well-kept lawn, which can be used for a round of badminton on windless days, for example. If it is too windy from the sea, a second smaller terrace facing south-east and with the wind protection of the house and the SPA area offers a quiet and sheltered alternative. there are two private parking spaces on the fenced property. The plants on the property reflect the diversity of the flora of Brittany, you will find a number of colourful hydrangeas, several types of palm trees, a tangerine bush and a large fig tree that often bears a lot of fruit, etc.

Villa DUXCAAR is a building in the classic neo-Breton style. For example, the granite blocks typical of Brittany line the doors and windows. Also typical are the four dormer windows and the roof covered with natural slate. Villa DUXCAAR has been and continues to be renovated and is always kept up to date and comfortable. In recent years, a completely new kitchen has been created, all bathrooms have been fitted with modern tiles and floor-level showers and all windows have been replaced. However, great importance was also attached to retaining typical local style elements. The original Breton granite fireplace has also been modernised, but the solid stone character in combination with the typical small bullseye windows of the fireplace insert have been retained. All four bedrooms have also been comfortably redesigned to a high standard, some even with a small granite work area, in order to meet the requirements for a "flexcation" stay. For stays from spring 2022, there will even be a separate, completely refurbished office area with a desk, screen, printer and high-quality webcam, so that longer stays with a combination of work and holiday will also be possible at any time. absolutely the most important part of the renovation was the spa area. An old "Grenier" was transformed into an area flooded with light, where you can always find peace and relaxation, even when it seems a little less cosy outside. Large skylights have been installed to gain overhead light and the ceilings have been removed to create a bright room over four metres high. The large jacuzzi is located in the centre of the room, we have created another spacious shower area and also installed an infrared sauna. There are also four comfortable loungers for relaxation in the spa area. The entire spa area has a pleasant indirect lighting system consisting of high-quality LED lights and the entire house is equipped to a high standard, with particular attention paid to ensuring that the kitchen meets the requirements of French culinary "savoir vivre". Examples include a separate wine fridge, but also smaller features such as Laguiole knives, oyster knives, lobster crackers and the like.

Villa DUXCAAR is located in the first row by the sea, right next to the Vougot dunes and the fine sandy beach of the same name. If you not only want to hear the sound of the sea at night but also enjoy swimming in the waves of the Atlantic, then you can reach the waterline in just two to three minutes. For example, the coastal hiking trail passes just a few metres from the property boundary. A renowned surf school is just 1 km away and if you would like to experience the thrill of riding a horse along the waterline, the nearest riding centre is just 500 m from the Atlantic. In the neighbouring municipality of Plouguernau you will find many other possibilities such as the hire of sailing boats of various sizes and types, kayaks, catamarans etc. A particular highlight, however, is the entire coastal landscape of the "Pays des Abers" with countless small and large bays, bizarre rock formations and small hidden bathing bays, which you often only have to share with very few other people even in the height of summer, as well as large, wide and very wide sandy beaches such as our house beach. A holiday in Brittany also includes the culinary delights of France's vegetable garden, many markets with fresh fish, oysters, spider crabs, Breton lobster, local cheeses, a good glass of Lambig or a break in one of the many creperies with a view or the sea or a picnic in the great outdoors. Those interested in culture will find the Musée des Beaux Arts of the Leclerc family in Landerneau, many small ecomusées, architecturally charming towns such as Lesneven or the capital Quimper with its beautiful old town. A day trip to the pink granite coast is also very attractive, as is a walk in the footsteps of Monsieur Dupin in Concarneau or an extended hike in the mountains of the Monts d'Arree and their enchanted fairy landscape and dark moors.

Both in the house and in large parts of the garden you have free Wifi access, which, as in rural areas in France, is not particularly fast but reliable, and we are happy to provide you with a travel cot for your children if required for a small fee. As one bedroom is on the ground floor, a holiday for one or two people is possible without barriers, as the house has almost level access from the street, the spacious bathroom has a floor-level shower and the living and dining area as well as the kitchen only have flat thresholds. The wellness area is also accessible without steps via a small ramp and we are also happy to provide a shower stool and a rollable stool for the kitchen. we provide initial equipment for the kitchen and bathrooms free of charge and in the kitchen you will also find basic items such as salt, pepper and spices.
