(+) : We loved our stay at Rafa's place. He answered every question we had and his english was a lot better than our spanish which helped us understand the finer details regarding check in, the property and the area.The closest shops were around 10 mins away in Coin which was easy to get to with a hire car and we were spoilt for choice when it came to beaches nearby (closest was around 35 min drive).We'd definitely consider coming back for our next stay in the Costa Del Sol.

(+) : Avec ma petite famille nous avons passé une excellente semaine. La maison est sublime, propre, grande et fonctionnelle. Pour 10 personnes c'était parfait. Le jardin est magnifique, la piscine aussi. L'endroit est très calme, entouré de verdure et surtout d'oliviers. Le propriétaire est très sympathique et disponible. La maison est bien placée pour visiter les alentours sur une journée ( Séville, Grenade, Nerja, etc...)Merci !

(+) : A lovely big villa but had a few maintenance issues. No plugs for the bathssinks. A welcome pack with the essentials would be beneficial. We had to buy dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and other cleaning products.It would be helpful to have a sign for the villa on the main road as it was very difficult to find.Overall a comfortable and lovely stay.

A lovely home in the hills : (+) : A beautiful home with amazing views of the mountains. Secluded enough to feel like a proper getaway but near enough to Malaga that you’re only a short drive from lots of things to do. The owners where very welcoming and helpful. We had a wonderful time.

(+) : Cortijo La Hilacha is een authentiek Spaans huis voorzien van alle basiscomfort voor een verblijf in het binnenland van Spanje dichtbij de natuur. Je kan in alle rust genieten van het zwembad en van de prachtige tuin. Op zeer warme dagen in de zomer is de airco binnen een aangename afwisseling. Ook een prima uitvalsbasis voor daguitstapjes naar bv. Nerja, Mijas, Marbella, Coín en veel meer. Supermarkten liggen op een 15 minuten met de auto. Een auto hebben is wel sowieso nodig om iets in de regio te kunnen doen.

(+) : We had a brilliant stay at the villa. We were travelling with 2 toddlers and they loved the pool area, as did we: The pictures do not do the view justice, it is beautiful! You definitely need a car to get around as it’s a little off the beaten track - Marbella and Malaga are each a 30 min drive. The pool and gardens are incredible and the house has all you need - including things such as salt and pepper, which is great. I would say to bring good bug repellent as owing to its location in the hills, and with lots of foliage, there are mosquitoes and flies around.We would definitely recommend this villa!

(+) : Het is werkelijk een prachtig huis, met alle benodigde faciliteiten voor gezinnen! Los nog van de mooie tuin, het geweldige zwembad en de verse citroenen van de citroenboom. Het huis ligt prachtig op de berg en het is heerlijk rustig. Dichtbij in Coin de supermarkten en 30/40 min van Marbella/Malaga. We hebben echt een heerlijke tijd gehad, een absolute aanrader en gastheer Rafael bedankt!!

Lovely Large Villa with Fantasic Views : (+) : The villa is very large and plenty of room. Beds very comfortable.
The owner was very friendly ( thanks google translate we got along fine).
The pool looked great and did manage to get into it at end of April. The views are fantastic looking over Alhaurin el Grande.
Lots of storage space
(-) : Our suggetions of improvement would be:
A better shower upstairs
The grass around pool needs tending to as full of burrs which stick in feet and all over the poor dogs.
The main gate is to heavy to keep opening and closing (need the electric to be attached and repaired)
Villa needs to be fenced securely as 1 of our dogs did manage to get out.

(+) : Great stay for our family, plenty of space for the kids, loved the pool. The kitchen was well appointed, and one of the best things is that it had basic things - salt, pepper, spices, etc - it's so frustrating when there is nothing there, so this was really handy.

(+) : We had an enjoyable stay at an absolutely beautiful Villa with a very nice pool area! The area around the house is very clean and even better than shown in the pictures. There was a air conditioner in every room except one bedroom. A very nice feature was the freezer at the outdoor lounge!The only thing to mention is the difficult way to the house with potholes and because of the houses in the surrounding area there is no loud music allowed late night.Rafa was very kind and we thank him for his fast responses and everything else! (Rafa is only speaking Spanish by the way)All in all it was a beautiful stay and we can recommend this villa to everyone else!

Familie vakantie : (+) : Heerlijk huis met voldoende ruimte. Waren met zn viertjes en hebben de bovenste etage niet gebruikt. Zwembad is top en de service van Rafa was geweldig. Fijn ook dat er meer dan voldoende borden glazen en dat soort zaken aanwezig zijn.
(-) : Wij hadden mede geboekt voor het lekkere gras met kleine kinderen. Hier zaten wat stekelige plantjes tussen. Na een opmerking hierover heeft Rafa de meeste weggehaald. Voor die kleine wel even wat waterschoenen aangeschaft. Rafa spreekt weinig engels. Dus communicatie via Google translate. Gaat overigens ook prima hoor.

Wonderfully private and secluded villa : (+) : The villa has everything you need for a wonderful holiday. It is incredibly private and secluded, The pool and outdoor space are great and the villa is very well kitted out with all a family require for a week away. Rafa is incredibly helpful and a pleasure to deal with, nothing is too much trouble.

Agua no potable : (+) : La casa era estupenda y el propietario muy simpático. Volvería sin duda.
(-) : La casa no tiene agua potable y nos vimos obligados a comprar garrafas de agua constantemente para poder beber agua. Además este hecho no se anuncia en ningún momento en la web de la casa. Consideramos que es un fallo grave y que se debe informar al consumidor antes de la reserva especialmente por el precio del alquiler. Además la nevera costaba mucho de abrir y se salía agua de unos de los grifos del baño. La casa no estaba muy limpia.

Fantastic location with a wonderful view : (+) : The Finca Cortijo La Hilacha really has a fantastic location, you can have breakfast on the spacious terrace as early as February at sunrise. Barbecue in the evening on the other side of the terrace and, if it gets too cold in the evening, heat in the house and enjoy the local specialties at the long dining table. The finca is quietly located between olive groves and still central. Excursions to the sea, to Gribraltar, to Cordoba, Ronda and Grenada are all possible as day trips. Space for vehicles in the courtyard, space in the house with the many bedrooms and bathroom and toilet on each floor, space around the pool and a wonderful garden with ferns, palm trees, cacti and blooming rosemary hedges. We really enjoyed our stay with 6 people and dog. The landlord is very nice and can be reached at any time using Whatsapp. It's a shame that we don't speak Spanish, otherwise we could have had a better conversation. But that's not a problem with the available translation programs. Again and again and 100% recommended.

(+) : Die Finca Cortijo La Hilacha hat wirklich eine traumhafte Lage, man kann bereits im Februar zum Sonnenaufgang auf der großzügigen Terrasse frühstücken. Abends bei Sonnenuntergang auf der anderen Seite der Terrasse grillen und falls es abends zu kalt wird im Haus heizen und am langen Esstisch die einheimischen Spezialitäten genießen. Die Finca liegt ruhig zwischen Olivenhainen und trotzdem zentral. Ausflüge ans Meer, nach Gribraltar, nach Cordoba, Ronda und Grenada sind alle als Tagesausflug möglich. Platz für Fahrzeuge im Hof, Platz im Haus mit den vielen Schlafzimmern und auf jedem Stock Bad und Toillette, Platz um den Pool und ein herrlicher Garten mit Farnen, Palmen, Kakteen und blühenden Rosmarinhecken.Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt mit 6 Personen und Hund wirklich genossen. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett und jederzeit per wats app zu erreichen. Schade, dass wir nicht spanisch sprechen, sonst hätten wir uns besser unterhalten können. Aber mit den verfügbaren Übersetzungsprogrammen ist das auch kein Problem.Jederzeit wieder und zu 100 % zu empfehlen.

We were allowed to check in earlier and also to stay in the garden a little longer while checking out. Super service! Furthermore, had a very nice stay. Great : (+) : Cortijo La Hilacha is, in general, a very nice vila but the location is very secluded, we had to meet the owner a few miles away at a shopping centre and we were grateful we did as we would have never found this vila, sat navs do not give accurate directions round here. The views from the vila are amazing, there is plenty of space inside and out and good facilities within the property, the villa was clean upon arrival with fresh bedding and towels, although we only found the outside towels the day before we left. Rafa is a very nice and attentive chap.

Genial : (+) : “Le séjour s'est très bien déroulé, la maison est spacieuse et très agréable, la piscine chaude et nous avions de l'espace à l'extérieur comme à l'intérieur. Le seul petit bémol serait le manque de vaisselle pour une maison pouvait accueillir autant de monde. Nous étions 10, mais il n'y avait que 12 assiettes plates ce qui nous forçait à lancer un lave vaisselle tous les repas.En dehors de cela, tout était très bien, le propriétaire de la maison nous a très bien accueillis, avec des tomates de son exploitation (délicieuses !) Et s'est même déplacé quand nous avions des difficultés à comprendre comment la wifi fonctionnait. Il était facilement joignable pour répondre à toutes nos questions. Nous avons passé une superbe semaine, à 30 minutes de Malaga et de Marbella, et proche des autres visites que nous souhaitions faire : Ronda (1h), Grenade (1h45), le Caminito del Rey (45 minutes) etc... C'est une position relativement centrale qui nous a permis d'être au calme et de visiter l'Andalousie sans changer de logement.”

The pictures cannot capture the reality : (+) : We were with a group of 10 adults and 1 child. Everything was amazing. The pictures cannot capture how beautiful and big the house and the surroundings really are! The view of the mountains and the green is beautiful. The pool was big, we had so much fun staying around the house. The terrace is big. The rooms and beds are comfortable and most areas have airconditioning. All you need is available in the house, washing machine, dishwasher, tv, airco, big enough fridge and freezer! Even hairdryer and iron was available. We used the towels that were available to us and washed them in the washing machine afterwards. I highly recommend staying in this house! Rafael was also so friendly and welcoming. There is a big chance we will return to enjoy our perfect holiday like this again.

Fantastic villa in peaceful setting. : (+) : Villa is large and spacious with a wonderful pool and garden area. The location is quiet but only a few minutes drive from Coin and Alhaurín el grande. The villa is well appointed and maintained and is large and spacious for a family holiday. We had a fabulous week there in August for a family holiday and I hope we will return soon.

(+) : Cortijo La Hilacha is, in general, a very nice vila but the location is very secluded, we had to meet the owner a few miles away at a shopping centre and we were grateful we did as we would have never found this vila, sat navs do not give accurate directions round here. The views from the vila are amazing, there is plenty of space inside and out and good facilities within the property, the vila was clean upon arrival with fresh bedding and towels, although we only found the outside towels the day before we left.On the downside there were several things that could do with attention inside, broken cupboard doors and light switch in the downstairs bathroom, leaking washing machine and very poor wifi. Outside, several of the sunbeds were very well worn, sagging covers which were very uncomfortable, there was no mention of the steep drops just off the lawn surrounding the pool which kept us all busy with a 2 year old running around, the bbq was almost impossible to use as it had a set height requiring loads of wood and charcoal, but the worse thing was the gate at the entrance, it was an electric gate that no longer worked, so had to be opened and closed manually but we could not get it to lock, this made us all feel very vulnerable through the night, especially with all the signs warning thieves away, so unwanted visitors are obviously an issue,These are all little things that I am sure Rafa will get sorted as the season continues. Rafa, by the way, is a very nice and attentive chap although he speaks no English at all.
