Historic Charm in the Heart of the Douro Vineyards
We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful historic house. It has a lot of character, and the thick stone walls kept the house pleasantly cool, even on hot summer days. The house was also spotlessly clean throughout our stay.
Our favourite spots were the upstairs and downstairs patios, both offering wonderful views over the river and the town. Staying in the middle of the vineyards made the experience even more special, and being able to visit the winery was a real highlight.
The rooms are very spacious, and staying here truly feels like stepping back into the early 1900s. The swimming pool is lovely and perfect for relaxing, although the outdoor furniture could use an update.
The only small downside for us was that we found the beds quite hard, but of course that's a matter of personal preference. Overall, it was a unique and memorable place to stay.

Spacious home with excellent views
We enjoyed the space of the house, both inside and out, as well as all ensuite bathrooms. It was clean, well equipped and had fantastic views across the river and town. Many options to enjoy sitting - terrace, balcony or pool. Pool was excellent and a lovely area to sit in. Access to and from the road was a little tricky, as was the drive (or walk) up the slope to reach the house. Plenty of shops and restaurants across the river, though traffic could be quite busy. Overall, a lovely week in a good location.

Lovely house in beautiful area
The house is excellent, fantastic views and it was very well situated for our needs. The photos do not do the house justice and it is much nicer than the photos suggest. The pool is much needed as the temperatures are very high in the area in the summer months and the house is not air conditioned but fans are provided to help.
However, the cooker is old and the ignition no longer works and none of us was prepared to light the oven with a match! Also, there was no sign of an iron and ironing board which to us was essential as we were attending a wedding in the area! There is no washing machine either.
The house is within easy walking distance of Pesu do Regua with plenty of choice of bars and restaurants and shops if you prefer to cook.
