Very good stay : (+) : We throughly enjoyed our stay at this villa. ProsAmazon pool, bbq area and lots of space inside the villa. Speaker system. Air conditioning in every room. Comfortable sofa and everything you need for a vacation provided in this villa. Cons A lot of insects inside and outside the villa.Tv is bit old and outdated and could do with an upgrade. beds and pillows could be better quality. The only good quality bed we thought was the one provided upstairs. Overall we were really happy with our stay minus few small issues. we would recommend this villa to others if they are looking for some quality family time away from the hustle and bustle of the coast.

Amazing getaway near Malaga and Marbella. : (+) : Beautiful villa in the middle of the lemon tree fields. The owner, Rafael, is very kind and helpful. The garden and outdoor kitchen are amazing. We stayed in the villa with small children. They loved te private pool and because of that the villa is fully airconditioned, we all slept really well.
(-) : Kitchen knives could be sharper (for those who like to cook).

(+) : This place was so amazing. Privately located in the most stunning surroundings. The house appeared bigger than expected but the interior could be updated to match the beautiful location. We rented a car to be able to drive to different beaches and then came back to the afternoons chilling at the pool and that was amazing, both kids and adults loved that. I loved that there was a great speaker for music, different seating options outside, beach/pool towels, barbecue area, the location between Malaga and Marbella. Would love to come back with familywith friends!

A practical property in the middle of orchard fields in a beautiful setting, very quiet : (+) : The agency - and Charlie in particular - was responsive and very helpful.

The owner Rafael is also the one farming the land around.

Having the owner close-by was a plus when we needed him : very responsive and friendly. He had some good nearby restaurant suggestions.

The beds were made when we arrived and the house was clean. Bath towels, kitchen towels, baby cot, baby high chair etc. : everything was there and ready.

Simple yet functional, the property is ideal for families, even with a dog. Ample parking space for 2-3 cars/van

Self-picked oranges and lemons were ripe and delicious : thank you Rafael
(-) : Add security at the pool for small children

Ensure that all pans available in the kitchen are indeed suitable for induction stove.

We rented in December. While one unit in a room was out of order, hot air heating was otherwise well working.

Not knowing Spanish we were able to communicate the essentials using our smartphone's translation apps

Excellent stay at this villa : (+) : The villa was lovely. Rafa was always on hand if we needed him. It was clean, had all the facilities we needed, amazing pool which was kept clean. The bedrooms were lovely and all air conditioned. We headed into Coin and Alhaurin el Grande most days and ate out most evenings. There were two friendly cats who would be with you all day and my daughter and niece named them boots and captain! We were a family of 6 and there was plenty of room for us all!
(-) : The umbrella type things in the garden could do with replacing as there wasn’t much shade due to them not being completely covered due to wear and tear but if that’s all we’ve got to moan about, then that’s fine.

(+) : Hola, hemos estado diez amigos para pasar el fin de semana. Todo muy bien, la casa, el jardín, piscina y espacios exteriores, etc.Buenos equipos para enfriar comidas y bebidas, zonas de bbq., varios comedores de exterior,Muy bien equipado en baños y aseos.Rafael, el dueño es muy amable, y servicial, nos hizo el check in y la recogida de llaves. Para dormir fuimos 10 personas, pero el sábado hemos podido pasar el día unas 15 personas, para hacer un almuerzo y usar la piscina, etc con el permiso de Rafaei. Estamos muy agradecidos por la flexibilidad. Lo recomendaremos a nuestros amigos. Javier

Schönes Haus in traumhafter Lage : (+) : Sehr schönes Haus, traumhaft ruhig gelegen, umgeben von Zitrusbäumen, aber trotzdem nicht weit von Coin mit vielen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet, der Garten ist schön angelegt und sehr gepflegt, der Pool immer sauber. Schön ist auch die große Terrasse mit der Überdachung, sodass man auch in der Mittagshitze gut draußen sitzen kann und an den Abenden natürlich auch. Rafa, der Besitzer ist sehr nett, und wir konnten die Schlüsselübergabe etc. per WhatsApp vorher abklären. Er hat uns persönlich empfangen und uns alles im Haus erklärt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und planen schon, im nächsten Jahr wieder zu kommen.

A lovely villa with a wonderful garden : (+) : We had such a great time here. The garden was amazing, with fantastic views of the sunsets over the mountains. Picking fresh lemons from the garden was wonderful and the kids loved being able to explore the lemon and orange groves looking for lizards!
The pool was clean and a great size, if a little chilly this early in the season...
The host, Rafa, was incredibly friendly and responded quickly to any questions we had.
The house and garden had loads of spots for us to hang out - as a group of two families, it offered plenty of space for us to all be together to eat and drink, as well as lots of time for us to be apart for a bit of downtime. Perfect!
The olive grove dining table might be our favourite place of all time.
The double and king size beds all seemed to have brand new mattresses and pillows, which was great, but they are definitely on the firm side!
Everything was clean and we felt at home here very quickly. Would definitely recommend.
The nearby town of Coin was lovely and we much preferred it to Alhaurin el Grande. Well worth a trip out for tapas at El Rincon in the church square.
(-) : The spiral staircase up to the main bedroom is incredibly steep, and all the other bedrooms are downstairs. If you have very little children who you might need to get up to in the night, this could be a problem. You wouldn't want to come down those stairs in the dark or in a hurry!
A bit of extra info about things like where to dispose of rubbish etc. would have been helpful in the welcome pack, as we didn't like to keep bothering Rafa with our questions. FYI, you can dispose of your rubbish in any municipal bin - they are dotted around everywhere in villages and towns. The closest were either in Villafranco de Guadalhorce or by El Trocha, the petrol station where you meet Rafa to collect the keys. Keep your recycling in a separate bin bag - there is a note on the fridge about what you can recycle in which bin.
There are two farm cats that like to hang out at the villa. Incredibly friendly and we were ok with them chilling with us on the sunbeds, but I guess not everybody would want them nearby.

Fantastic family stay at Villa Cortijo la Indiana : (+) : Perfect for families or groups, plenty of space to spread out so as not to feel claustrophobic and equally great spaces to gather as group.
We really enjoyed having the option of two seating areas outside, and really maximised the BBQ space and accompanying fridges.
The pool area is lovely, as is the surroundings, so it's a perfect location for relaxing outside.
We were a group of 8 and it was a perfect size, and suitable for all members of the family from Grandad's and Grandma's to our tiny baby,
The inside space was cool and clean, so ideal to escape from the heat when needed.
Shops are a 5 minute drive to stock up on groceries but plenty of options to venture and explore further afield and really convenient from Malaga airport - about 30 min drive.

We would stay again!

(+) : We went on holiday for the second time to this house and as always we had a week of relaxation and peace.Rafael was very friendly and always responds to all requests. The house is comfortable, fresh, and warm, surrounded by orange, lemon, and olive trees.it's a brilliant combination of being in the countryside and being able to go to the beach (the closest one is 20 minutes away by car). My boys always enjoy nature, the pool, the sunsets, and the countryside.Always looking forward to back !!!

(+) : We had an amazing stay at the accommodation. The house is located in a citrus farm which makes for beautiful ambience. Rafa was kind and welcoming and made it clear that he was there to answer any question we had. The house was beautiful, garden is south faced. In end of January it was a bit cold, but with the air condition, some slippers and a sweater all was good and cozy.

An excellent villa for our New Year break : (+) : The villa was comfortable and spacious enough for 8 adults. We loved the choice of areas to sit and eat together. It was well located inland from Malaga (around 30 mins drive) and had everything you needed a short drive away. Loved the pool area and garden and once we'd worked out how the AC worked, the combination of the fire in the lounge and those made for a comfortable winter stay.
(-) : Just a few minor things:

- somewhere to hang towels in the bathrooms would be good
- a holder for the shower head on the downstairs showers would be really good
- the bedding was a bit tired and marked, and pillows lumpy
- also worth noting that the water tank is not really big enough for 8 showers, we had to have super quick showers for us all to have a warm one
- an information pack on how things work (eg AC) and info on where to put rubbish, buy firewood etc would be useful

(+) : We throughly enjoyed our two week stay, in December, and everything was exactly as described. The house is really big, the garden is beautiful and so is the pool area. We were looking for a place at the countryside and this place truly delivered. The heating systems were more than adequate, the fireplace works really well and the homegrown oranges and lemons were stunning. Our host was very friendly and responsive to our needs. He was also very kind and polite with our special requests. For example, he will help usthe best orange variety to our own garden! We were really happy with the stay!

sencillamente perfecto! : (+) : La casa de Rafael es sencillamente maravillosa! en un ambiente increíblemente tranquilo, rodeado de limoneros, naranjos y olivos. seguridad, tranquilidad y privacidad acompañaros de muy buen gusto, limpieza exquisita y todas las facilidades imaginables. el jardín y la piscina, con sus rincones especiales, enorme barbacoa, tumbonas, sombrillas y preciosa vegetación, son lo mejor. pero la casa en sí tampoco se queda corta: dormitorios amplios, baños enormes y muy bonitos, todo limpísimo gracias al excelente y detallado trabajo del equipo de simpaticas limpiadoras. la cocina totalmente equipada para cocinar en casa. la casa es lo suficientemente amplia como para alojar a dos familias cómodamente. Tafael es muy amable y flexible. vino a limpiarnos la piscina al amanecer para no molestarnos :). Se ve que cuida muy bien sus propiedades y que le importa dar un buen trato a sus clientes. Absolutamente recomendable!volveremos!

(+) : We have just had the most lovely week at the villa. It is quiet and secluded but just a few minutes drive from lots of shops and supermarkets. It really has everything you could think of to make your stay as easy, relaxing and comfortable as possible. The outside space was perfect with lots of seating areas to choose from so you don’t feel like your on top of everyone. We hardly spent any time inside but when we did it was lovely and cool and very well equipped. I can’t wait to return again soon with family and friends in the future.

Quiero decirles que después de un lockdown muy intenso de trabajo (por formar parte del área de salud) como nos ha pasado a todos, fueron nuestras primeras vacaciones en familia buscando el sol, La Paz, respirar aire puro de campo.!La verdad que encontramos mucho más que eso nuestras mejores vacaciones en un mucho tiempo. Gracias a Rafael por la amabilidad y tu cordialidad en todo momento.La casa es fenomenal, rodeada de naranjos, limones, olivos y sin nadie alrededor. Los árboles estaban en flor y había un aroma primaveral único y maravilloso para cada desayuno que realizamos en el jardín. Las montañas y sus atardeceres, y su ubicación cerca de hermosas ciudades para recorrer, cerca de la playa y rodeada de buenos restaurantes locales y supermercados (se necesita alquilar coche para disfrutar de esto) Rafael volveremos sin duda alguna !!!!! Mis hijos escoceses amaron tu jardín y tu piscina llegaban agotados a la cena para ir a dormir. La primera vez que estamos en España en el area de Andalucía (hemos recorridos otras áreas en otros momentos) y hemos quedados enamorados. Gracias totales!!!

perfect country house ! : (+) : I spent 4 weeks with my spanish wife and our son in Rafaels house. Really a fantastic place, well-designed, spacious, nicely decorated, with a great location surrounded by farms, with stunning views on the Guadelhorce valley. There are a few neigbours but each at several hundred meters distance.

The small village Villafranco del Guadalhorce is at 2 minutes by car, you find a few bars there and also a small supermarket. Its 8 minutes to the next city , Alhaurin el Grande, and the same distance to the nearest motorway, which takes you to downtown Malaga or surrounding beaches in another 15 minutes, so really close to everything, if you have a car.

The internet connection is very good, and Rafael is always helpful and available, as he is also the owner of the organic lemon farm next to the house, where he works nearly every day.

casa estupenda en ubicacion estupenda ! : (+) : He pasado un mes con mi esposa espanola y mi hijo en la casa de Rafael. Es practicamente nueva, muy bonita, espaciosa y bien desenada , y con una ubicacion realmente fantastica dentro de una finca biologica. Vistas espectaculares, calma absoluta, sin embargo en 2 minutos de coche estas en el pequeno pueblo Villafranco del Guadelhorce, que tambien nos gusto, y donde hay un par de bares y un supermercado Coviran. En 8 minutos estas en Alhaurin el Grande o en la entrada de la autopista, que te lleva en la playa o en el centro de Malaga en 15 minutos adicionales. La conexion internet es estupenda, y el proprietario Rafael es muy amable.

Fabulous house in the Andalusian countryside : (+) : The house is nicely laid out, ideally situated in the countryside. Lots of orange groves, lemon trees and olives around. Very calm, safe and practical.

Mejor alojamiento para unas relajadas vacaciones, imposible. : (+) : El cortijo la Indiana es tal cual queda descrito en la página . Amplio, confortable, dispone de todo lo necesario para que no echemos en falta la comodidad de nuestras casas. La ubicación es ideal, a un paso de la civilización, comercios (lidl, carrefour, mercadona,...) y a su vez apartado para gozar de intimidad, silencio, calma.
El propietario encantador, nos estuvo obsequiando con productos de su huerta, unos tomates castellanos espectaculares, unas aceitunas aliñadas "Antonio García " increíbles. Su trato hizo que aún, y era bastantes difícil, nos sintieramos más a gusto. Volveremos sin lugar a dudas.

Tranquilidad total : (+) : La casa es perfecta para pasar una semana tranquila disfrutando de la zona exterior y la piscina, con unas vistas muy agradables. En general la casa es muy cómoda. A pesar de ser julio, tiene muchos árboles que permiten tener sombra y estar frescos. También en el interior al contar con AC en dormitorios y ventiladores en el resto de estancias. Hemos estado muy a gusto durante nuestra estancia.
(-) : Únicamente como sugerencia: contar con cosas como una diana, mesa de ping pong, etc de entretenimiento.

(+) : The place is amazing. I had a very nice view from my room every morning. The garden was full of oranges and mandarins. The person welcoming us was very kind to wait for us longer on the day of arrival and the whole communication was very smooth and pleasant. Thanks so much to Rafael and the team for the warm welcome. We had a very nice time at this villa. The only thing that I would probably be happier about is that the Villa would be a little bit warmed up before our arrival. It took us a couple days to start feeling comfortable about the temperature inside. But I fully understand we were there during the winter season. And this season has its own very good perks. I can imaging that the house has a very nice cooling effect in summer.

Lovely villa : (+) : "Lovely villa in a very rural location but close enough to local markets and some bigger shops to make self catering easy. The girls could scream away in the pool all day and run around naked with only a few chickens as neighbours to worry about! Air-con units worked well. Generous room sizes throughout. Owner is keen to please but with limited English (matched by our limited Spanish!) There was plenty of wardrobe space.

Superbe vacances : (+) : C’est une très belle villa . Les salles de bains sont agréables, mais avec de petites bizarreries (douches). Les soins de Rafa sont très agréables. Nous avons été immédiatement accueillis avec des fruits et des légumes de sa propre culture. Il nous a donné des œufs et des oranges tous les jours. Tout dans un endroit agréable pour passer de bonnes vacances.

We had a lovely time at this property : (+) : Rafael was very amenable and brought fresh veg regularly. We had a problem with a couple of things and within 10mins of sending whatsapp message Rafael was on hand and sorted the problem. The property is every bit as good as the photos. I recommend this property without reservation. Please note that the villa is in a rural location so a means of transport is essential. We had 2 weeks as a party of 5 ranging from an 81 year old to our daughter who is 28. There is space for children to play in the garden but they need to be supervised by the pool as it is quite deep. Thanks Rafael for your attention during our stay.

Spacious villa : (+) : My family and I have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Rafael’s house. We have stayed in numerous vacation homes over the past few years and have to say this is our favourite. It is extremely secluded being located within Rafael’s farmlands, with no houses overlooking the house. Rafael met us at a nearby petrol station and we followed him to the house. Previous reviews made mention of Rafael’s lack of English but we made the effort to learn some basic Spanish before our visit so we were able to communicate with him pretty well. The house is exactly as described and portrayed in the listing photographs but with lots of extras including an additional fridge in the BBQ outbuilding and a toilet for using whilst at the pool. The TV is a Smart TV so you are able to log into your own Netflix account etc. and despite a previous review about the Wi-Fi, we were able to watch Netflix whilst our two boys watched YouTube on their ipads and messaged their friends on their phones – so the Wi-Fi may have been upgraded. Rafael visited a couple of times to clean the pool, cut the grass and tidy up the gardens but he always gave us notice that he was coming. Another review noted that there was a lack of hot water when you are last in the queue to shower – we at no time encountered this problem but our tip would be to put the cold water on first then slowly introduce the hot until it is warm enough to shower in. Due to the summer heat a cold shower was sometimes welcome! You can leave the blinds closed to keep the area cooler but it does make the room quite dark throughout the day. We would like to say a massive thank you to Rafael for allowing us to stay in his house. We will hopefully return soon.

(+) : My family and I have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Rafael’s house.  We have stayed in numerous vacation homes over the past few years and have to say this is our favourite.  It is extremely secluded being located within Rafael’s farmlands, with no houses overlooking the house. Rafael met us at a nearby petrol station and we followed him to the house.  Previous reviews made mention of Rafael’s lack of English but we made the effort to learn some basic Spanish before our visit so we were able to communicate with him pretty well. The house is exactly as described and portrayed in the listing photographs but with lots of extras including an additional fridge in the BBQ outbuilding and a toilet for using whilst at the pool.  The TV is a Smart TV so you are able to log into your own Netflix account etc. and despite a previous review about the Wi-Fi, we were able to watch Netflix whilst our two boys watched YouTube on their ipads and messaged their friends on their phones – so the Wi-Fi may have been upgraded.   Rafael was the most perfect host and we awoke on our first morning to a basket of his own farm-grown tomatoes and peppers sitting on the outside table.  He delivered another two similar boxes during our stay.  We cooked with these every day and the taste was absolutely out of this world.  The grounds of the house are lovely with the pool being a perfect temperature. We would like to say a massive thank you to Rafael for allowing us to stay in his house.  We will hopefully return soon.

(+) : We had a lovely time at this property, Rafael was very amenable and brought fresh veg regularly. We had a problem with a couple of things and within 10mins of sending whatsapp message Rafael was on hand and sorted the problem. The property is every bit as good as the photos. I recommend this property without reservation. Please note that the villa is in a rural location so a means of transport is essential. We had 2 weeks as a party of 5 ranging from an 81 year old to our daughter who is 28. There is space for children to play in the garden but they need to be supervised by the pool as it is quite deep. Thanks Rafael for your attention during our stay.

Oasis of tranquility in the middle of nature. : (+) : We have been vacationing in holiday homes in Italy and Spain for 12 years with our dog. This house was the most beautiful until now! We had three really nice relaxing weeks of vacation.
The location of the property is great. No disturbing neighbors in the immediate vicinity and still very easy to reach. A car is certainly an advantage.
The house inside is really very beautiful, modern, clean and furnished with everything you need. Very nice.
The property with the many southern plants is just top! There are orange trees directly on the property, from which you can pick the juice for breakfast. In the adjoining goose enclosure, it still has mandarins, grapefruit and lemons. The outdoor kitchen with barbecue is top! Nestled in olive groves and orange plantations, you have a very nice view.
The pool also invites you to bathe with clean, clear water. Unfortunately, the pool lacks some mosaic stones, and in order to get the beautiful waterfall going you would probably have to be half a pool technician. This would have to be repaired on occasion and the pool control would have to be modernized. But this is already the only small criticism of an otherwise really great, beautiful and clean house/estate.
The owner Raffa is very nice, uncomplicated and helpful. But his English isn't really good which does not bother me, on the contrary it is an incentive for me to improve my Spanish for the next holidays in this house (Yes, we will be back).

Overall wonderful ” : (+) : “The property is perfect and the air conditioning in the bedrooms a god send. We were in contact through our stay with the host and he is on hand for every eventuality, even down to identifying a snake that made a brief dip in the Pool. You are not far from Coin which has a number of supermarkets for shopping and Marbella is just a 40 Minute drive too. Property and pool are wonderfully clean and there are a number of seating areas to enjoy in the garden.

Our host has a lot of grounds and we walked around them a few times, we were encouraged to pick and eat the juicy oranges that grow everywhere on the property. Wonderfull villa in the rural countryside only half an hour from Malaga : (+) : - The view: it was excellent.
- The garden with the pool and picnic area: very nice. We really enjoyed having our breakfast in the garden.
- The chickens, gooses and orange trees! We had fresh eggs and oranges each morning. Our kids loved it.
- The wonderfull owner Rafael looked well after us, he came to check up on us a couple of times. He had showed us the chickens, waterfall, etc.
(-) : - On arrival, it's very nice if some food for the breakfast the first morning is provided for. Just some bread and butter would be great!
- Rafael was very relaxed and helpfull, but unfortunately he spoke little English, so communication was difficult.
- The heating of the water. If you're the third to take a shower in the evening, there's almost no hot water any more.

Bei der Anreise wurden wir durch den Eigentümer Rafael sehr herzlich empfangen. In der Küche warteten schon ein gefüllter Korb mit Zwiebeln, Zucchini und Paprika aus eigenem Anbau, sowie ein Glas Honig auf uns. Fast freundschaftlich gab er uns noch Tips, wo man gut und landestypische Essen gehen kann.

Das Ferienhaus liegt sehr ruhig und idyllisch in einem Olivenhain, war sehr sauber und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Einzig die beschichteten Pfannen sollten durch Edelstahlpfannen ersetzt werden, weil wohl nicht jeder Vorbewohner ordentlich damit umgegangen ist. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind vielfältig in wenigen Kilometern vorhanden.

Der Garten ist schön groß und sehr gepflegt. Der Pool ist sauber und reinigt sich automatisch. Der Pool ist nicht beheizt, aber bei den Temperaturen auch nicht notwendig. WLAN ist vorhanden, mit 3 Mbit zwar nicht besonders schnell, aber zum surfen ausreichend. In jedem der vier Schlafzimmer ist eine Klimaanlage angebracht, die via Fernbedienung gesteuert werden kann. Wir haben sehr gut dort geschlafen.

Unser Lieblingsplatz war der sehr lange und große Tisch auf der Terrasse direkt vor dem Haus oder an dem identische Tisch vor dem Grillplatz unter vier Olivenbäumen. Traumhaft schön.

Absolutes Highlight waren die sehr üppig bewachsenen Orangenbäume auf dem Grundstück mit dem besten frisch gepressten Orangensaft und die Möglichkeit über ein kleines Gatter sechs Hühner und zwei Gänse auf das Grundstück zu lassen, die für Unterhaltung sorgten und zum Dank jeden Tag mindestens ein frisches Ei hinterließen!

Wir können die Villa Cortijo la Indiana uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Wir verbrachten dort zu zweit eine sehr schöne und erholsame Zeit!

Fabulous, spotless, relaxing, beautiful. : (+) : We are just back from a weeks holiday at Villa Cortijo and it was absolutely fabulous. The villa is completely true to the photos, if not better. It was spotless - in fact i don't think I've ever stayed anywhere that was so clean. The rooms were lovely and tastefully decorated and the kitchen had all mod cons with plenty of crockery and glassware to use. The garden and pool area is beautiful with views to die for overlooking the mountains and so quiet and tranquil. The pool was clean and large and the landscaping of the gardens was just lovely. There is a separate bbq area outside with picnic table in a shaded area that we used several times. Supermarkets (you have a great choice of 4) are around 5- 10 minute drive away in Coin. Alhaurin el Grande is also a 5/10 drive and a nice town to go to for bars and restaurants. Very Spanish. The whole grounds are completely closed in with electric gates for added security - especially useful if you bring a pet. We had fresh eggs in the morning from the chickens next door which we could access ourselves from our garden. All in all it is a superb villa. Definitely worth a visit.
